Where do indoor air pollutants come from and what are they?
The degradation of indoor air quality comes from multiple sources:
- construction and decoration materials (furniture for example),
- improperly adjusted heating or air conditioning systems,
- human activity (cleaning products, cigarette smoke, etc.).
The so-called "VOC" pollutants (Volatile Organic Compounds) are the most important because they can be up to 15 times more present in indoor air than in outdoor air.
